On 9 May 2018, police officers from the Polish Police Regional Headquarters in Poznan together with the Wielkopolska Probation Officers Association organized an educational and informational “Safety Day” in the area of Internet security as part of the project “Two sides of the Internet”. The event was addressed to pupils from the Middle School No. 1 in Komorniki.
The pupils participated in the preventive meeting with police officers and the probation officer. The Commissioner Michał Krolikowski, Szymon Witczak from the Polish Police Regional Headquarters in Poznan and Justyna Piekarska - probation officer, conducted lessons based on three thematic blocks: a cyberviolence, a responsibility and risky behaviors of juvenile people. During the course, the police officers also presented a multimedia lesson. Pupils were familiarized with the threats that arise from access to the Internet and how to protect against them.
With the aim of security on the Internet, police officers regularly organize “Safety days” in the Wielkopolska Region. These activities also involve probation officers, volunteers of the Bank Zachodni WBK Foundation and representatives of other institutions working within the “Threats Observatory for young people”.
